What is the Show Me Excellence Green Belt?
A training opportunity for State of Missouri change agents focused on building advance problem solving and process improvement skills through experiential learning.
What is the Green Belt Program and what will it consist of?
Building on the foundational continuous improvement concepts presented in the Show Me Excellence White and Yellow belt trainings, the Green Belt is the next level in this training series and is considered advanced. In this program, participants will gain in-depth knowledge of process improvement tools, build data analysis skills and learn change management best practices while directly applying this knowledge to an agency-sponsored project. This training is facilitated by the Center of Excellence – OpEx Team and provides participants with the online learnings, in-person education, and initial mentoring in OpEx and continuous improvement concepts.
In this training you’ll gain knowledge of key OpEx methodologies, focusing on building continuous improvement, change management, and facilitation skills.

This training is considered advanced and participants should be prepared for a moderate time commitment, in addition to their typical workload, to conduct project work and online learnings.
Am I eligible to apply?
State of Missouri team members who meet the following criteria at minimum will be eligible to apply.
- Must have completed the Show Me Excellence Yellow Belt course.
- Can commit at least 10% of their working time to online training and project completion.
- Can commit to completion of approximately 46 hours of program-paced online learning over the duration.
- Be willing to attend in-person classroom sessions.
- Have at least one year of service with their current agency.
